Worcestershire Primary Care and Worcestershire LARC fitters

This area of the website is for Worcestershire GPs and for Worcestershire GPs who fit long-acting reversible contraception (LARC).

We aim to hold an annual update for both coils and implants and also a general sexual health annual update

Please note:

At Worcestershire Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) we are only commissioned to fit 'coils' for contraceptive purposes.  Please do not refer women for an Intrauterine System (IUS) if this is not for contraception. If they are needing an IUS purely for HRT or to control heavy menstrual bleeding and not contraception, then you will need to refer them to Gynaecology. Unfortunately, any such referral we receive will be sent back to the referrer.

Our current wait for a routine coil or implant procedure is 15 weeks.  More urgent cases will be seen sooner.
