About the ward
The unit has three assessment rooms with associated bathroom and small kitchen. Only one patient can be accommodated in each room and there are contingency arrangements for periods of peak demand. There are no formal arrangements for visitors, but staff will always seek to accommodate family support for patients.
The unit has two Health Care Assistants to support patients and formal assessments are carried out by an Approved Mental Health Professional and either one or two doctors.
