Evesham, Broadway, Bredon, and Inkberrow (EBBI) Neighbourhood Team have raised over £4k for St Richard’s Hospice charity by completing a 35 mile challenge.

The journey consisted of a 12 hour circular trek through Worcestershire countryside along the Rivers Avon and Severn and quiet country lanes, as part of a Paddle, Plod and Pedal event.

The EBBI Neighbourhood Team paddled 10 miles in a bell boat from Pershore to Tewkesbury, walked 10 miles from Tewkesbury to Severn Stoke, and cycled 15 miles back to Pershore.

The journey was all about raising money to support the vital services St Richard's Hospice provides to adults with illnesses which cannot be cured.

Sarah Hoare, Senior Community Nurse from the EBBI Neighbourhood Team, who participated in the event said: "The challenge was anything but easy. I'm so proud of everyone from the team who took part, it really was about coming together for an excellent cause. We are very grateful for the support received from friends, family and our local community who helped us go over and above our fundraising target. Our team care for patients receiving support from St Richards Hospice, and we wanted to give something back for all the amazing work they do."

The community-based EBBI Neighbourhood Team, part of Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, includes district nurses, therapists, healthcare assistants, and administrators. They work closely with GPs, social care staff, and other professionals to provide care to patients in their own homes.
